Lake Rules & Regulations

Vehicles are not to be driven around the lake unless prior agreement has been
reached with the owner/bailiff. Vehicles must be left at the gated entrance area. -
Maximum 3 fishing rods per angler.

Never leave your rods unattended and only fish in one swim at a time.

Only fish from designated swims. Do not make your own swim or cut back any vegetation. Contact the bailiff/owner if you would like any vegetation or trees cut
back. -
No braided mainline on fishing rods but may be used on spod and marker rods.

A minimum of 15lb Mainline to be used on all fishing rods.

No fixed leads. All leads must be able to be released by the fish.

All fish caught to be removed from the lake using the weigh slings provided.

Please do not remove fish from the lake in the landing net.

Lead core, lead free leaders or shock leaders are not to be used.

Magic Wand/Magic Twig is not to be used.

Random rig checks will be carried out at the bailiff/owner discretion.

Ensure all lost line is reported to the bailiff/owner as soon as possible.

To prevent disease transfer, only use the wet gear provided unless prior agreement has been made with the bailiff/owner. Wet gear provided will include landing net, weigh sling, cradle/unhooking mat and buckets.

Water buckets to be always kept full.

All fish to be returned to the lake and must not be carried away from the swim they

are caught in. Fish must be returned to the lake in the weigh slings provided.

Fish are to be photographed above cradles. Do not lift fish more than necessary above cradles. As a guide, this should not be more than 45cm/18 inches.

Anglers must always have a carp care kit with them.

Any damage to fish should be treated with a carp care kit before returning the fish to the lake and reported to the bailiff/owner as soon as possible. If you feel it is necessary, fish should be retained in your landing net until the bailiff/owner arrives or has been contacted.

All soaked particle to be used must be checked and agreed by the bailiff/owner before use.

No nuts to be used unless checked and agreed by the bailiff/owner.

Ensure bait is not left open and is always in suitable containers.

Please keep noise to a reasonable level while at the lake, especially at nighttime.

Ensure your rubbish is taken back to the lodge and deposited in the correct bins provided.

Please leave Elba Lake as you found it, clean and tidy.
These rules are in place to ensure the welfare of our fish and the future of our venue. If you do not adhere to these rules, you may be asked to leave the lake and lodge.
