Booking Policy, Terms & Conditons

It is the lead persons responsibility to ensure that they have the authorisation to book the holiday for all persons within the party and that the booking terms and conditions, have been read, understood and agreed to.

It is every person’s responsibility to familiarise themselves with the lodge rules and lake rules and ensure that they are understood and adhered to. These can be found on the website, www.elbalake.co.uk.

The price quoted to you for your holiday is fully guaranteed and will not change even if prices are altered after your initial deposit payment.

Your holiday will be reserved upon receipt of your deposit and your booking will be confirmed and accepted for all persons travelling.

Your booking confirmation form will be sent to the lead person in your group via email.

Written notification can also be requested but is not sent automatically to preserve use of paper.

All deposits paid are non-refundable. The deposit paid becomes part of the payment towards the total cost of the holiday.

After your holiday has been reserved via deposit payment, the remaining balance of your holiday must be paid in full no later than 8 weeks before your arrival date.

If the remaining balance has not been paid by this date, we reserve the right to cancel your booking, and your deposit will not be refunded.

If an initial booking is made within 8 weeks of your arrival date, then full payment for your holiday must be made immediately.

Cancellation of your booking must be made via email or in writing and can only be carried out by the lead angler.

In the event of the cancellation of your confirmed booking, the following cancellation charges will apply:

More than 30 days before arrival – deposit only.

Less than 30 days before arrival – 100% of the total booking cost

We will try to accommodate any requested changes to bookings, such as date alterations for example, although this cannot be guaranteed and will be looked at on an individual basis depending on the circumstances and nature of the booking change requested. Additional charges may be incurred for any booking changes.

Any damage, breakage or defect to property, items or equipment owned by Elba Lodge is expected to be reported immediately and you may be liable to additional charges for any damage or breakage.

Any chargeable expenses arising during the rental period should be settled with us locally before your departure.

You are advised that access to the lake and lodge is from 3.00pm on your arrival day until 10.00am on your departure day.
You should not expect to have access to the facilities before or after these times respectively although every effort will be made to accommodate travelling parties where possible.

It is the responsibility of every person travelling to Elba Lake to ensure they have the correct documentation to travel to us. This includes ensuring you have the following documentation if it is required:

A valid passport

Health certificate

Visa certificate

It is not the responsibility of Elba Lake to ensure your documentation is fit for travel and we accept no liability. Examples of this for a UK passport holder are:

to ensure you have a 10-year passport with at least 3 months remaining after your departure date from France. If you are a non-UK resident, please ensure you are aware of the requirements for entering and leaving France from your country’s embassy.

Elba Lake accepts no liability for any damage, loss or injury to you or your personal belongings while you are on holiday with us.

It is recommended that you ensure you have sufficient travel and/or holiday insurance in place for all persons within your booking for the full duration of your holiday before you arrive with us.

It is advised that this should cover yourself, cancellation, personal belongings and public liability.

Force Majeure – Elba Lake accepts no liability or responsibility for any of the following events that are beyond our control and may disrupt your holiday booking:

Natural disasters, such as floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, wildfires and weather problems affecting travel

Acts of people, such as riots, strikes, war or threat of war, terrorism, industrial disputes, technical problems affecting travel and port closures.

Government shutdowns, such as lockdowns, political unrest and port closures.

This list is not exhaustive and may include any other event that may be deemed within the boundaries of Force Majeure.

We reserve the right to immediately terminate your holiday if we or any other authoritative person or persons judge or deem your behaviour to be unacceptable towards any other person(s) or wildlife during your holiday.
